  • 1/4 cup vegetable oil
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup chocolate chips

  • Instructions

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease your donut pan with a bit of oil or cooking spray.
  • In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, cocoa powder, granulated sugar, brown sugar, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
  • In another bowl, combine the buttermilk, vegetable oil, egg, and vanilla extract. Whisk until blended.
  • Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and stir until just combined. A few lumps are fine.
  • Fold in the chocolate chips.
  • Fill each donut cavity about 2/3 full.
  • Bake for about 10-12 minutes or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean.
  • Allow to cool in the pan for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack.
