  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup buttermilk
  • 1 cup caramel sauce (store-bought or homemade)

  • Instructions

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a 9-inch round cake pan.
  • In a large mixing bowl, cream together the softened butter and sugar until it’s light and fluffy.
  • Beat in the eggs, one at a time, followed by the mashed bananas and vanilla extract.
  • In another bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt. Gradually mix this into the wet ingredients, alternating with the buttermilk.
  • Pour half of the batter into the prepared cake pan, followed by half of the caramel sauce. Swirl gently.
  • Pour the remaining batter on top and drizzle the rest of the caramel sauce, swirling it through the batter.
  • Bake for 30-35 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean. Allow to cool for 10 minutes.
  • Transfer to a wire rack, drizzle with extra caramel if desired.
