½ cup vegetable oil (or applesauce for lower-fat version)
Instructions
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×5-inch loaf pan.
In a large mixing bowl, mash the ripe bananas until smooth. Add sugar, eggs, and vegetable oil, mixing until well combined.
In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, cinnamon, and salt.
Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, stirring just until incorporated. Be careful not to overmix!
Gently fold in the chocolate chips, reserving a few for the top.
Pour half of the batter into the prepared loaf pan, then sprinkle with 1 tablespoon of cinnamon, followed by the rest of the batter. Swirl it gently with a knife to create beautiful patterns.
Bake for 60-70 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
Allow the bread to cool in the pan for about 10 minutes before transferring it to a wire rack. Slice and enjoy!
