1 lb Italian sausage (spicy or mild, your choice!)
2 tablespoons olive oil
3 cloves garlic, minced
1 cup heavy cream
1 cup grated Parmesan cheese
1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
Salt and pepper to taste
Fresh basil for garnish (optional)
Instructions
Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Cook the fettuccine according to the package directions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the Italian sausage, breaking it apart with a wooden spoon. Cook until browned and cooked through (about 5-7 minutes).
Add the minced garlic to the skillet and cook for another minute until fragrant.
Pour in the heavy cream and stir in the Italian seasoning. Bring to a simmer and let it thicken for about 3-4 minutes, stirring frequently.
Once the sauce has thickened, stir in the Parmesan cheese until melted and creamy. Adjust the salt and pepper to your liking.
Add the cooked fettuccine to the sauce, tossing to combine.
