Ingredients
Scale
2 pounds ground beef
1 large onion, sliced
4 cloves garlic, minced
1 cup beef broth
1 tablespoon soy sauce
1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
1 teaspoon dried thyme
Salt and pepper, to taste
4 crusty rolls or baguettes
Sliced provolone or Swiss cheese (optional)
Instructions
Start by browning the ground beef in a skillet over medium heat. Make sure to break it up into small pieces as it cooks. Drain any excess fat.
Transfer the cooked beef into your slow cooker. Add the sliced onions, minced garlic, beef broth, soy sauce, Worcestershire sauce, thyme, salt, and pepper. Give it a good stir to combine all those flavors together.
Cover and cook on low for 6-8 hours or on high for 3-4 hours.
When ready to eat, toast your rolls slightly in the oven if you like a little crunch. Spoon the beef mixture onto each roll and top with cheese, if desired.
Serve with a small bowl of the cooking broth on the side for dipping.
