Instructions
Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
Grease two 9-inch round cake pans with butter and dust with flour.
In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt until well combined.
In another bowl, beat the butter and sugar together until light and fluffy—about 3-5 minutes.
Add eggs, one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Add the vanilla extract and mix further.
Gradually add the flour mixture to the wet ingredients, alternating with the milk, and mix until just combined.
Evenly divide the batter between the prepared pans and smooth the tops. Bake for 25-30 minutes until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
